Bonnie Plants Partners with The Carrie Murray Nature Center
-3rd Grade Cabbage Growing Contest Across America-

April 2013, (Baltimore), The Carrie Murray Nature Center has partnered with Bonnie Plants for a 3rd Grade Cabbage Growing Program with a mission to inspire young people across America to love their vegetables; with a hands-on experience.

Each year Bonnie Plants distribute more than one million cabbage plants to 3rd Grade classrooms across America for this program.  For 2013 Bonnie Plants choose The Carrie Murray Nature Center in Baltimore City as their agriculture distribution hub, to expand the programs’ reach to all Baltimore City 3rd Grade Teachers and youth group providers.

As part of the program, Bonnie Plants awards a $1,000 scholarship to one student in each state.  Teachers and youth group providers submit a class winner and a child is chosen by each state’s Director of Agriculture.

“This unique, innovative program exposes children to agriculture and demonstrates, through hands-on approach life lessons in nurture, nature, responsibility, self-confidence and accomplishment”.  said, Stan Cope, President-Bonnie Plants.

Bonnie Plants has delivered over 500 cabbage seedlings to The Carrie Murray Nature Center, for this exciting agriculture program. Contact Corrine Parks at The Carrie Murray Nature Center 410.396.0808 to get growing!

This program is provided by Friends of The Carrie Murray Nature Center (Board) for the use of The Carrie Murray Nature Center.
