The Green Ambassador's: Tip of The Day
Upcycling and Recycling Your Wardrobe
The change of the season is upon us and in fashion trends that often means that our clothes are outdated well before they are wore out. Consider upcycling or recycling wardrobe your wardrobe; it will save you money and will help prevent tone of textiles from ending up in our US landfills. FYI: According to EPA, in 2010 Americans discarded 13.1 million tons of textiles. Only 15% of which was reclaimed for recycling, while more than 11 million tons of textile were dumped in landfills across the county.
Check out these local designers Nikki Stokes-Harris she uses old sweaters from your wardrobe or thirft stores to create unique crochet peices and Lakisha D. Harris she uses thirft store clothes to turns them into designer knock-offs.
