The Carrie Murray Nature Center Gets A Green Boost


-The Green Ambassador for Maryland Has Joined the Board-


February 2013 (Baltimore City), Cathy Allen, The Green Ambassador has joined the not for profit board, Friends of The Carrie Murray Nature Center, on February 5, 2013.

“The Carrie Murray Nature Center is one of Baltimore City’s unique treasures.  The Center is a host site for natural wildlife, environmental and educational workshops and resources, all set in a historic natural urban woodland setting.  I am extremely excited to join the board of fellow environmentalist to grow, nurture and to increase the center environmental educational programming for all Marylanders' to enjoy.”  said, Cathy Allen, The Green Ambassador.

Corinne Parks, Director of The Carrie Murray Nature Center, “We’re thrilled to have The Green Ambassador as one of our board members.  Cathy has always included us in many of her environmental projects; we welcome her out-of-the-box green thinking and leadership.”

“As the president of The Friends of Carrie Murray Nature Center, we welcome The Green Ambassador for her insightful green and sustainable knowledge and passion for the environment, making her membership to the board a natural fit.” said, Major Gary S. Burnett.

About Carrie Murray Nature Center:
The Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks established the Carrie Murray Nature Center in the late 1980’s after receiving a generous donation from baseball legend Eddie Murray.  The nature center is dedicated and named in memory of Mr. Murray’s mother-Carrie.  The center is located inside the 1216 acre historic Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park, at 1901 Ridgetop Road, 21207.  The center is home to hawks, owls, deer, fox raccoons, beaver, opossums, turtles and a great array of song birds.  Visit: www.carriemurraynaturecenter.org for to tours, environmental workshops, and more.
